New Pulpit for Worship Services

Worshippers at the Chapel were welcomed back for the 2026-27 season by Pastor Gary Carr. Pastor Carr stands at the new pulpit, donated by several Chapel members in memory of Rev. Dr. Bill Weimer, who passed in March 2026.

Bill Weimer served as the pastor and community chaplain of Mariner Sands Chapel beginning Jan. 1, 2008, following his retirement from a 30-year career in the U.S. Navy. He served until his retirement from the ministry in 2014. He and Eathel then moved to Atlantic Beach, Fla.

Bill and Eathel were instrumental in the growth Chapel programs. During his years at the Chapel, several Bible Study groups started, as well as the Shawl Ministry and Community Picnic. He also wrote several InterVarsity Bible Studies books throughout his career.
